I have to explain the photograph below!

Come meet me at Sam's Club! I will be signing books. Forgive the photo: I was pretending to be a Sustainable Audrey Hepburn.

Graylyn, my 15 year old, takes most of the photos of me that you see. Last weekend Scott and I were invited to a 50th anniversary of some very dear friends. I completely forgot about what day it was much less getting a present, wrapping it, and getting ready for this event. One of my sons mentioned the date and a light bulb went off in my head about one hour before the party was to begin. I just couldn’t not go.

I had been working in the garden, canning vegetables, and had very dirty hair and one hour to get ready, get Scott ready, shop, wrap, and get to the party. Graylyn said that she would do my hair and I hesitantly agreed. She put it in a bun and out the door I flew. Somehow we made it ON TIME to the party. It was a splendid party, but I have to say that I was very happy to return home.

I wore a black dress and had just gotten this fabulous hat (no, I didn’t wear it to the party). Graylyn was so kind to say that I looked like Audrey Hepburn and that we should take a few pictures. I thought that would be great fun!! I got to pretend to be Audrey in my black hat and dress and tried to be a “Sustainable Audrey” in the garden… in my courtyard with the herbs…you get the drift. Well…let’s just say, we had a blast! Graylyn couldn’t  keep herself from using one of the photos for the book signing graphic!

That’s the story and I am sticking to it….

Hope to see you at the signing on Thursday!
